Call of Duty, ixbt04
The easiest modes without AA and anisotropy: The advantage of 6600GT over X600XT/PCX5900 is obvious, one can say that the comparison with the "emulators" did not tell us anything new. We can only be happy for GF 6600 that easily outscored its competitors, which are sometimes more expensive (PCX5900 is even in a different price segment). With enabled AA: the battle with 256-bit video cards is lost for obvious reasons, the memory bandwidth is more critical in this game than the core. The same picture is correspondingly with the comparison to the "emulators". And only 6600 outscored X600XT due to the same bus as well as memory bandwidth. With enabled anisotropy: Here the situation changes again. Pay attention that on the whole these tests look similar to those in RtCW/Q3. One can tell that the engine is almost the same. NV43 is again successful. The final heaviest mode with AA and anisotropy: the defeat in AA turned out dominant and influenced the entire bottom line. And still 6600GT turned out faster than X600XT/PCX6900. 6600 is faster than those cards as well. Thus, on the whole:
The increase of operating frequencies in 6600GT (18%) did not lead to the same performance gain. It grew a little less.
