Kyocera extended its CONTAX digital camera series with CONTAX SL300R T* based on Finecam SL300R that is, in its turn, based on Finecam S5R. Sales are scheduled to the early December.

Acorp 7KT600 on VIA KT600 + VT82 chipset to arrive for sale soon Another motherboard on VIA KT600 + VT8235 chipset – this time from Acorp – should arrive for sale soon. If you remember, MSI has just released a similar product. The KT600 chipset itself (AMD Socket A Athlon XP and Duron, 100/133/166/200 MHz FSB and DDR 200/266/333/400 SDRAM) arrived this June, while VT8235 Southbridge (UATA-133, 5.1-channel sound and USB2.0/1.1) has been used in motherboards since mid-2002.

Oki Swing´nRinger ML2864: new sound for mobile handsets Japanese Oki released a new PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) W-CSP (Wafer level Chip Size Package) chip ML2864 capable of generating up to 64 polyponic ringtones in 8 octaves simultaneously. ML2864 is the third solution in the Swing´nRinger family evolving to improve sound generation quality. The novelty meets the modern standards, including GM (General MIDI) System Level 1. Sized 5x5mm, the chip supports 128 timbres and 47 percussions (GM requirements), SMF, and requires 1.8V voltage. Supporting voice playback, it features a built-in 2bit/4bit OkiADPCM synthesizer and operation LED controller. Shipments are expected to start in December.
Thunder K84 — Tyan´s S4880 4-way Opterons board AMDboard.com posted some specs of Tyan´s Thunder K8&sub4; board — S4880. According to the index, it can host 4 x Opteron 8xx processors in its µPGA 940 sockets. The board bases on AMD-8131 chipset, has 10 x 184-pin 2.5V DIMM sockets (4 for the 1st CPU and 2 for each of other three CPUs). The maximum memory capacity is 20GB of PC1600, PC2100, PC2700 registered ECC modules. Brief specs:

![]() Gigabyte GN-WLBZ201: a USB drive coupled with a WLAN module Gigabyte Technology announced its GN-WLBZ101/201, a combination of a USB drive and a IEEE 802.11b WLAN module (the GN-WLBZ101 model features WLAN only). New products are designed for both notebooks, and desktops. Unlike similar devices that exist in the market GN-WLBZ201 has 128MB capacity.
![]() The package includes software for using GN-WLBZ101/201 as an access point (Windows 2000/XP only) with 64/128-bit WEP protocol support or as a SOHO Web gate.
