Oki Swing´nRinger ML2864: new sound for mobile handsets
Japanese Oki released a new PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) W-CSP (Wafer level Chip Size Package) chip ML2864 capable of generating up to 64 polyponic ringtones in 8 octaves simultaneously.
ML2864 is the third solution in the Swing´nRinger family evolving to improve sound generation quality. The novelty meets the modern standards, including GM (General MIDI) System Level 1.
Sized 5x5mm, the chip supports 128 timbres and 47 percussions (GM requirements), SMF, and requires 1.8V voltage. Supporting voice playback, it features a built-in 2bit/4bit OkiADPCM synthesizer and operation LED controller.
Shipments are expected to start in December.
