CONTAX SL300R T* — a new incarnation of Finecam SL300R?
Kyocera extended its CONTAX digital camera series with CONTAX SL300R T* based on Finecam SL300R that is, in its turn, based on Finecam S5R. Sales are scheduled to the early December.
Similar to the base model, it has Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar T* lens with 3x optical zoom. The lens include 6 elements in 6 groups and aspheric element. The focal length is 5.8-17.4mm, F2.8-4.7 (38-115mm in 35mm equiv.). The focusing range is 60cm to inf. in the Normal and >20cm (W) in the Macro mode. The CCD features 3.17 million effective pixels, 1/2.7" (3.34 million pixel max.). The digital zoom is 3x, ISO AUTO/100/200/400/800.
The camera provides 2048x1536 max. image resolution (JPEG/DCF; Exif 2.2), 640x480 @ 30/15 fps AVI movies, supports SD/MMC cards. The model has a 1.5" LCD display (118K pixels), USB (mini-B) interface. It powers from its Li-Ion battery (3.7V/780mAh) or an AC adapter.
Sized 100x15x62.5mm, it weighs about 125g. In other words, it differs from its progenitress only by the lens and appearance.
