![]() Hewlett-Packard already scheduled shipments of its nw8000 mobile workstation on ATI MOBILITY FireGL T2 to early December. It features 1.60GHz Pentium M, 512MB DDR333, 40GB HDD, 15" SXGA+ WVA display, ATI MOBILITY FireGL T2, Microsoft Windows XP Pro. nw8000 mobile workstation will cost $2999.
Samsung offers new 6-chip MCP memory "pie" Korean Samsung Electronics introduced its new MCP development – 6-chip memory solution designed for mobile handsets and other similar devices.
![]() This time the "pie" consists of 256Mbit NAND Flash, 128Mbit NOR Flash, 64Mbit UtRAM, 16Mbit SRAM and 2 x 128Mbit mobile DRAM. As far back as in March the company released two MCP chips for 3G devices:
The above solutions were 1.4mm thick that was just 0.2mm over usual chips. However the company optimized the layout and actually reduced MCP design by 50%. New chips are even smaller 10.5x10.0x1.2mm. Finally here´s a legend for the photo above:
2.50GHz Intel Mobile Celeron officially announced Intel introduced another Mobile Celeron model 2.50GHz that becomes the most powerful in its class. Similar to its 2.40GHz predecessor, new 2.50GHz Mobile Celeron is made using 0.13µm process. The chip supports 400MHz FSB, has 256KB L2 cache. The energy consumption remained about the same 35W. The model is already shipping. In over 1,000-unit quantities 2.50GHz Mobile Celeron costs $149.
Syncmaster Magic CX710P and Syncmaster 177X — Samsung´s Premium Korean Samsung announced two new LCD monitors for its Premium series: Syncmaster Magic CX710P and Syncmaster 177X. The former, positioned as a model of the year 2004, is supplied with MagicTune software that enables to control its settings by mouse. Therefore this model doesn´t have any controls on the front panel. Features differ from usual as well: 700:1 brightness, 178° vertical and 180° horizontal viewing angle.![]() The latter monitor, 17" Syncmaster 177X, seems to be one of the first to feature just 12ms response time (vs. 25ms). Model MSRPs are $670 and $550, respectively. No shipments information has been disclosed yet.
SimpleTech: Nitro — new memory for overclockers SimpleTech released two memory series at once: 256 and 512 MB SD ProX and desktop DRAM Nitro High Speed Memory. According to the company, new cards achieve 10MB/s read/write speed that makes them suitable for digital cameras. Of course, ProX cards can also be used in PDAs, MP3 players, smartphones, voice recorders, etc. SD cards are sized 24x32x2.1mm and weigh 3g; MSRP of 256MB model is about $160, MSRP of 512MB model is about $300. As for memory modules, Nitro series covers almost all overclocker memory range featuring Nitro PC3500 (DDR433 SDRAM), Nitro PC3700 (DDR466 SDRAM), Nitro PC4000 (DDR500 SDRAM). Modules will be showcased at Comdex in Las Vegas (November 17-20) in Gigabyte´s systems. DRAM series include 256MB to 1GB modules positioned for powerful gaming systems. According to the company, modules will be sold both separately, and in 512MB (2x256MB) and 1GB (2x512MB) kits for dual-channel systems. Depending on module MSRP ranges from $120 to $400.
