SimpleTech: Nitro — new memory for overclockers
SimpleTech released two memory series at once: 256 and 512 MB SD ProX and desktop DRAM Nitro High Speed Memory.
According to the company, new cards achieve 10MB/s read/write speed that makes them suitable for digital cameras. Of course, ProX cards can also be used in PDAs, MP3 players, smartphones, voice recorders, etc.
SD cards are sized 24x32x2.1mm and weigh 3g; MSRP of 256MB model is about $160, MSRP of 512MB model is about $300.
As for memory modules, Nitro series covers almost all overclocker memory range featuring Nitro PC3500 (DDR433 SDRAM), Nitro PC3700 (DDR466 SDRAM), Nitro PC4000 (DDR500 SDRAM). Modules will be showcased at Comdex in Las Vegas (November 17-20) in Gigabyte´s systems.
DRAM series include 256MB to 1GB modules positioned for powerful gaming systems. According to the company, modules will be sold both separately, and in 512MB (2x256MB) and 1GB (2x512MB) kits for dual-channel systems. Depending on module MSRP ranges from $120 to $400.
