Both support SMARTSHADER HD, VIDEOSHADER HD, HYPERZ HD, 3Dc, and feature D-Sub, DVI, S-Video interfaces.
Crucial Ballistix Tracer: more LED lights on overclocker memory After Corsair had released its XMS Pro et XMS2 Pro, Crucial announced its own series of "creeping LED" memory modules Ballistix Tracer. At the moment the series includes DL6464L505 (512 MB) solutions on 256 Mbit chips (32x8) and BL12864L503 modules (1 GB) on 512 Mbit (64x8).
However only 512 MB DIMM modules are available for ordering at the company website for $160. These are unbuffered 184-pin DDR500 (PC4000) SDRAM with 2.5-4-4-8 timings at Vdd=+2.8±0.2V voltage. According to the published materials 1 GB module support 3-4-4-8 timings. Traditionally for overclocker memory, the novelties feature black copper heatsinks. Those willing to see "creeping lights" can download the demo (WMV, 1,613,817 bytes).
Elpida is ready to produce 90nm DDR2-667/800 SDRAM Elpida Memory finished the development of 90nm process technology to be used in production of DDR2 SDRAM memory. In particular, the manufacture of 512 Mbit and 1 Gbit DDR2 SDRAM components will be launched in 2005. According to the company, the new process is expected to raise "company efficiency" by 20%. The new production lines have the same litho tools installed as on 100nm lines 248nm scanners, optical KrF lithography. Besides, usage of OPC (Optical Proximity Correction) reduces physical dimensions of a memory cell by 90% at the high enough yield.
DVR-ABN16A: new DVD±RW drive from I-O Data More and more DVD±RW announcements come to light. This time Japanese I-O Data released the new DVR-ABN16A drive in external (DVR-ABN16A USB 2.0) and internal (DVR-ABN16ABK) modifications. Actually the novelty is nothing else, but ND-3520A announced yesterday, just in this case NEC makes these recorders for I-O Data. DVR-ABN16A is expected to cost ¥19,845 ($190), while DVR-ABN16ABK is to cost ¥16,485 ($160).
