AMD: ultimate price cut
AMD cut prices for its processors. The most serious cut was made to prices of Athlon 64 (3400+ by 30.9%, 3500+ by 30.8%). Some boxed versions got more expensive instead. Marketologists explain it by addition of coolers and warranty services.

We are now testing AVerMedia AVerTV USB 2.0 TV tuner. According to our Alexey Samsonov, the device is rather compact (91.5x86x16mm) and has a solid scratchproof case that doesn´t prevent interface access.
The bundle includes:
- Tuner itself
- Shielded USB2.0 cable
- Line-in cable
- Voltage divisor for using tuner with mic-in
- Leather case
- 3 software CDs (Ulead VideoStudio 7SE included)
- User´s Manual
Renesas unveils SH7780, 2.8 GFLOPS chip
Renesas unveiled its new 32-bit SuperH SH7780 chip based on SH-4A. The novelty operates at 400 MHz, processes 720 MIPS and up to 2.8 GFLOPS.
SH7780 is an improved version of SH7751R, based on SH-4 core and featuring PCI controller (also present in SH7780). The new chip is designed for high-end electronics, gaming consoles, navigation systems.
Sampling is expected in November.
Green House ships 512MB mini-SD cards
Japanese Green House launched shipments of 512MB mini-SD media (GH-SDCM512M) with MSRP of ¥38,800 ($350).
GH-SDCM512M Mini-SD meet mini-SD Ver.1.02 specs the define up to 8MB/s read/write speed, 2.7-3.6V voltage, 80mA max. current. Besides, cards have SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) implemented.
