Renesas unveils SH7780, 2.8 GFLOPS chip Renesas unveiled its new 32-bit SuperH SH7780 chip based on SH-4A. The novelty operates at 400 MHz, processes 720 MIPS and up to 2.8 GFLOPS.
![]() SH7780 is an improved version of SH7751R, based on SH-4 core and featuring PCI controller (also present in SH7780). The new chip is designed for high-end electronics, gaming consoles, navigation systems. Sampling is expected in November.
