SiS introduced its new chipset for mobile AMD Athlon XP processors an integrated SiS M741 chipset. SiS M741 Northbridge supports all the modern Mobile Athlon XP chips, including models with 333MHz FSB, DDR400. It can also work with integrated graphics with hardware DX7 and software DX9 support, LCD monitors up to UXGA (1920x1600), and AGP 8X bus.
The Northbridge is coupled with SiS963 Southbridge that adds Serial ATA ports, 6 x USB 2.0 ports, 5.1-channel sound, V.90 modem and an Ethernet port. In case of SiS162 the solution also receives Wi-Fi support.
Fujitsu presented its new corporate tablet PC, FMV-STYLISTIC TB10, that should arrive to the market late in December. It features 12.1" LCD (XGA, 1024x768), 1GHz Pentium M with reduced energy consumption (Intel 855GME). The basic configuration also includes 256MB RAM (up to 2GB).
Traditionally FMV-STYLISTIC TB10 has 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x PC Card slot, 1 x SD slot, 1 x 1394a port, Gigabit Ethernet controller, and supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g.
Sized 324.4x220x20.9-22.3 mm, it weighs 1.55 kg. With a standard battery the PC works 5 hours, while the optional higher-capacity accumulator provides, 7.5 hours of operation. The model is supplied with a cradle featuring an optical drive, external monitor connector, etc.

Without much fanfares AMD extended its desktop Socket 754 processor series. The most interesting here is that the new chip has the same clock speed, as Athlon 64 3200+ 2GHz, but its rating is lower because of the halved L2 cache of 512KB.
Other specs are naturally identical to those of Athlon 64 3200+: DDR400 support, CPUID 0F48h, 1.50V core voltage, 89W TDP, Cool´n´Quiet support. Just the price differs (see table below).
At the same time, AMD changed prices for mobile Athlon 64 3000+ DTR (Desktop Replacement) processors.
Korean S/U/M/A/ announced another graphics card on GeForce FX 5700 Ultra (NV36) PLATINUM GeForce FX 5700 Ultra 128MB.
According to its marking, the model has 128MB GDDR-II SDRAM (128-bit bus), features 475MHz core clock, 900MHz memory clock. It´s a rather standard graphics card with standard capabilities for its class: it supports DirectX9, CineFX 2.0, UltraShadow, Intellisample HCT, and has TV-out (up to 1024x768), DVI and D-Sub (max. 1600x1200 and 2048x1536, respectively). The bundle includes FIFA SOCCER 2004.
B241 (Netkey series) is originally named USB Flash WLAN Card. Sized 109.9x34.31x11.45mm, it weighs 15g. As a WLAN card it supports 802.11b (2,400-2,4835 MHz) standard. Other specs include:
As a flash drive the device features:
Transcend released 1GB DDR400 SDRAM modules for AMD Opteron systems. Registered TS128MDR72V4A3 is based on FBGA chips are has the following features:
According to the fresh issues of Japanese press, Toshiba developed a new miniature HDD just 0.85" (21.6mm) in diameter.
Currently there´s no official information on the company´s website, so we just have this minimum of information: initially such hard drives will have capacities about 2-3GB and will be primarily intended for mobile handsets. The first consignments of Toshiba´s 0.85" HDDs are to arrive in 2005 with estimate price for OEM customers of ¥30,000 ($270).

Yesterday VIA Technologies launched shipments of its new VIA K8M800 chipset being company´s first integrated solution for AMD Athlon 64/Opteron processors. We´ve already posted enough about its specs, so today we just have to state the fact of shipments and offer some previously unknown details.
As you know, K8M800 is an integrated variant of the popular discrete K8T800 that additionally features the S3 Graphics UniChrome Pro IGP graphics core. The Northbridge and CPU are interconnected by 16-bit 1.6GHz HyperTransport, while the North and Soth bridges are connected by V-Link (533MB/s). The 128-bit UniChrome Pro IGP 2D/3D graphics operates at 200MHz, features integrated MPEG-2 accelerator and supports 16MB to 64MB allocated RAM. Besides, the chipset supports external AGP 8X/4X slot.
VIA K8M800 is coupled with VIA VT8237 Southbridge implying VIA Vinyl Audio 5.1/VIA Vinyl Gold Audio 7.1, VIA Gigabit Ethernet, 10/100 Fast Ethernet, MC97, 6 x PCI, 2 x Serial ATA + SATALite for 2 more SATA, V-RAID (SATA RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, JBOD), 8 x USB2.0.
I´ll just add that ready solutions are expected early in Q1 2004 from Asus, Biostar, Chaintech, ECS, FIC, Gigabyte, Jetway, Mitac, MSI (K8MM-LS), Shuttle, and Wistron.
