![]() The novelty bases on Caplio 300G sold since September. It features wide-angle lens with 3x optical zoom (F2.6-4.3, 28-85mm in 35mm equiv.) The model can shoot at 2048x1536, 1280x960, 640x480, and record movies at 320x240 (up to 30s) or 160x120 (up to 120s). The focusing distance is 0.3m to inf. (Normal) and >1cm (Macro). The camera has an optical viewfinder and 1.6" LCD. Images are stored on SD/MMC cards, but the camera also has 8MB built-in and USB interface. The body meets the 7th Class of water protection and the 6th Class of dust protection, according to JIS. FYU: the 7th Class of water protection implies 1m to 30m operational depths. The camera powers from 3 x AAA batteries. Sized 135x69.5x75.1mm, it weighs 355 g without batteries and memory cards. Caplio 400G Wide MSRP in Japan is about $900.

Sharp to ship the new 1/1.8" 6Mp CCD Late in December Sharp is going to ship its new 1/1.8" 6Mp CCD RJ21T3AA0PT/ST naturally designed for digital cameras. Besides, the company started shipping the corresponding logic to speed up the launch of volume production of cameras with the new CCD.
