![]() ![]() ![]() Legacy Electronics patents its 3D chip assembly technology North American Legacy Electronics, known as memory modules, PCB, etc. developer, maker and tester, obtained the patent No. 6,545,868 B1 from USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) for the proprietary technology of assembling memory modules using Canopy assembly sub-modules (patent No. 6,313,998 B1).![]() The idea of using the Canopy tech is shown on the image above. It provides a kind of caps for making higher-capacity multi-layer memory modules like those the company produces now. The new technology will enable even higher-capacity 3D assembled modules for Legacy Electronics. It’s also interesting that initially this Canopy innovation was called to increase the stability and decrease the chance of overheating in multi-layer DRAM designs.

HWZ review: Intel Desktop Board D865PERL (865PE) "All in all, the Intel D865PERL would make an attractive buy for users who only trust in Intel´s product reliability, stability and support. With more features now built on-board, we think Intel is addressing the needs of the consumers with very attractive value and performance. That is certainly a very positive step for Intel and we hope to see more of such products coming from Intel especially one with even better (or more radical) overclocking features."Read more at HardwareZone.

Bjorn3D reviews the XFX GeForce FX5200 "With all the talk about the high-end FX5800 and FX5900 it is easy to forget that NVIDIA also has released new low-end cards that will replace the GF4 MX cards. We have reviewed the XFX FX5200 card and compared it to a GF4 MX and a Ti4200 both in the usual benchmarks and in a bunch of the latest game demos."Read more at Bjorn3D.
Photo of the day: Sapphire Atlantis RADEON 9600 PRO and Atlanis RADEON 9200 64MB We are currently testing new graphics cards from Sapphire : Atlantis RADEON 9600 PRO and Atlanis RADEON 9200 64MB.The former is almost identical to ATI´s reference with 400/300(600)MHz clock speeds.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Unlike it, the latter, Sapphire Atlanis RADEON 9200 64MB has a really unusual low-profile PCB. But what’s more important, it has only a 64-bit bus, i.e. lacks the half of memory chips, with other being 16õ4 bit. Apparently, it will work considerably slower than a usual RADEON 9200. Still, you should read our reviews on it.
