The novelties will feature three color schemes: wood (-M), black (-K) and silver (-S). In retail they’ll arrive both as a single 5.1-ch. ARC-7L system, and as a number of components as well as a home theater – together with Denon ADV-1000 DVD player (Dolby Digital, DTS, AAC, Dolby Pro Logic II, 6x55W, 94dB SNR, about $800). M series components are made of maple, other – of fibreboard.

Floor frontal SC-T7L 5-band stereo speakers (about $420; $580 for a maple version) feature gilded sockets, four 2-band 8cm speakers (glass fiber) and 1 HF tweeter (up to 90kHz). Being made of maple, they provide 6Ohm impedance, 89dB sound pressure, 40Hz to 90kHz frequency range. The dimensions are 85x179x1200 mm, weight – 6.5 kg.

SC-C7L central speaker (about $330; about $420 for a maple version) can be situated both vertically on a bundled stand, and horizontally. It features four 8cm wideband speakers and one HF speaker. C7L resembles T7L, it´s frequency range is 45Hz to 90kHz, size – 600x179x85 mm, weight – 3.4 kg.

SC-A7L shelf speakers (about $165; about $250 for a maple version) are shipped together with stands. They feature two 2-band speakers with 80Hz to 90kHz frequency range. Their sound pressure is 86dB, dimensions – 85x179x180 mm, weight – 1.3 kg each.

DSW-7L subwoofer (about $580; about $750 for a maple version) features own 200W amplifier, two 13cm speakers with double-stage air-cushion. DSW-7L frequency range is 24Hz to 200Hz (50Hz resonance frequency). It’s dimensions are 220x380x648 mm, weight – 16.9 kg.

SMC Networks SMC2670W: a new wireless Ethernet adapter

SMC Networks announced a new wireless Ethernet adapter — SMC2670W – for connecting Ethernet devices to WLANs.

SMC2670W supports IEEE 802.11b wireless standard (2.4GHz, up to 11Mbps, up to 250m), doesn’t require drivers under Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP, enabling to connect any Ethernet device to a wireless LAN in the Plug-and-Play mode without additional software. Besides, the novelty supports additional settings via Web browsers or Windows utility and provides 64- or 128-bit WEP encryption.

Sanyo Electric presents miniature D class amplifier

Unlike most such amplifiers of AB class, the new chip operates in D class. Featuring pulse-duration modulation scheme with necessary low-frequency filters, the new chip offers rather high efficiency factor, small size and can be coupled with a small heat-sink.

STK210-030 nameplate capacity is 2x100W (ouput; 8Ohm, THD=0.8%), supply voltage – 5V, design — SIP21 body sized 67x25.5x9mm. In the future the company is to release 2x50W, 2x150W, 2x200W, 3x50W, 3x100W chips for this serie.

Elo TouchSystems announces new embedded LCD panels

5000 Series Elo Entuitive 1847L can be mounted in kiosks as well as in industrial and trading equipment and game appliances. The monitor has 18.1" 1280x1024 LCD panel (359x287mm viewable area) with 235cd/m² brightness, 400:1 contrast, 170° vertical and horizontal viewing angle, 16/7 ms response time. The monitor is bundled with AccuTouch (up to 188cd/m² brightness) or IntelliTouch (210cd/m² brightness) sensor panel and features analog and DVI-D connectors. Energy consumption makes 50W, dimensions are 492x364x77mm, weight – 8 kg.

The company also released a new 15" sensor LCD — 3000 Series Elo Entuitive 1566L – for mounting into AccuTouch interface panel.

The model features 15" 1024x768 LCD panel (304x228mm viewable area) with 300cd/m² brightness (up to 255cd/m² with AccuTouch), 450:1 contrast, 150° horizontal 130° vertical viewing angle, and also has a Mini D-Sub 15-Pin connector. Monitor energy consumption makes up to 30W, dimensions are 446x355x64mm, weight – 9 kg.

Sony MDR-EX71SL and MDR-EX51: new earphone series

MDR-EX71SL is an improved version of MDR-EX70, featuring two body colors: black (B) and white (W). According to the company, earphones feature neodymium magnets, provide better sound specifications and changed polar pattern. Cable is 0.5m long, bundled with a 1-m extender. Earphone diameter is 9mm, claimed frequency range – 6Hz-23kHz, impedance – 16Ohm, sound pressure – 100dB/mW, max. power – 100mW, weight — 4g.

MDR-EX51 series will include three models with different body colors: golden red (N), blue (L) and gray (R). Earphone diameter is 9mm. MDR-EX51LP is bundled with 1.2m cable, MDR-EX51SP – with 0.5m cable. Claimed frequency range is 6Hz to 23kHz, impedance – 16Ohm, max. sound pressure – 100dB/mW, max. power – 100mW, weight – 4g.
