Let’s shed more light on this.![]() As we’ve previously informed Memory Stick Pro is not compatible with Memory Stick despite similar dimensions. One of the first devices that supports Pro cards is Sony DSC-F77. it seems the color scheme is to remind of the incompatibility. By the way, "PRO" means "Professional", "Progressive" and "Protection".
As the same time, it turned out that Sony hasn´t yet finished with older format and announced "older" 256Mb MSA-128S2 cards with 128Mbx2 organization, like two cards in a single body. To switch between the capacities one should use the miniature selector on the card body.

Wi-Fi Alliance announces Wi-Fi Zone worldwide brand At CES 2003 Wi-Fi Alliance (former WECA) announced the first phase of worldwide promotion of public access to wireless services.The primary goal is to create the familiar Wi-Fi brand. To support Wi-Fi ZONE the Alliance designed the speciawww.wi-fizone.org website, where Wi-Fi providers can freely register their products before March 2004. The second stage to be begin in Q1 2003 will include user participation and will define the Wi-Fi ZONE zones worldwide.

Casio EXILIM EX-Z3: new 3.2-mp digital camera with 3x optical lens Casio Computer announced new EXILIM EX-Z3 of ultracompact digital EXILIM series.EX-Z3 is the first in EXILIM family to feature 3.2-mp CCD and 3x optical lens. 3-segment telescopic lens and multilayer multichip Stack MCM are located inside the ultracompact EXILIM EX-Z3 body, measured 87x57x22.9 mm (down to 19.7 mm).

Photo of the day: MSI MS-8904 on NVIDIA GeForce FX MSI posted the first photos of MS-8904 graphics card, based on NVIDIA GeForce FX, along with the flowchart.There are no specifications disclosed, so just have a look at the pictures. I can add that MS-8904 has the same circuitry as the reference GeForce FX (at least after visual PCB comparison) and differs by the read PCB like other latest MSI products. By the way, the card features Samsung DDR-II memory.
![]() ![]() ![]() 1Gb Sony Memory Stick PRO expected in March Sony Style posted the promo about the shipments of Memory Stick PRO MSX-256, MSX-512 and MSX-1G with 256Mb, 512Mb and 1Gb capacity, respectively.![]() Sony Memory Stick PRO will arrive to retail in March this year. The cards are size-comparable with the previous Sony Memory Stick, however feature the faster parallel controller. It’s interesting that currently Sony ships some devices supporting Memory Stick PRO, like DSC-F717 and DSC-F77 digital cameras and some VAIO notebooks.
TwinMOS announces DDR333 (PC2700) CL2 Unbuffered Yesterday TwinMOS Technologies announced new DDR333 Unbuffered modules with CAS Latency 2.![]() They will feature 128Mb, 256Mb and 512Mb capacities, work under all DDR333-enabled platforms. The modules feature 6-layer PCB, feature 30-micron galvanic-coated contacts and have the lifetime manufacturer’s warranty.
