Wi-Fi Alliance announces Wi-Fi Zone worldwide brand
At CES 2003 Wi-Fi Alliance (former WECA) announced the first phase of worldwide promotion of public access to wireless services.
The primary goal is to create the familiar Wi-Fi brand. To support Wi-Fi ZONE the Alliance designed the speciawww.wi-fizone.org website, where Wi-Fi providers can freely register their products before March 2004. The second stage to be begin in Q1 2003 will include user participation and will define the Wi-Fi ZONE zones worldwide.
Wi-Fi Alliance has also designed the special logo to participant identification.
