New AGP 8È cards will be compatible with all AGP 2x, 4x, 8È mobos, and new AGP 8È boards will support 2È and 4È cards, meeting AGP 2.0 or 3.0 specifications.
New GeForce 4 Ti 4200 AGP 8X and GeForce4 MX 440 AGP 8X, and nForce2 solutions are soon expected from such OEM makers, as ASUStek, Chaintech, EPoX, eVGA.com, Gainward, Jaton, Leadtek Research, MSI, and PNY Technologies. New AGP 8È platforms, based on NVIDIA solutions, will be produced by 4MBO International Electronics AG, Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), HP, MicronPC.com, and Shuttle Computer.
Bluetooth hands-free and FM tuner from Sony Ericsson Sony Ericsson announced the new original solution: HBH-60 Bluetooth device, weighing 22 g and 72 mm long.To answer a call with HBH-60, one can give a voice command or use the button on the ourter side. According to Sony Ericsson, the device battery provides 2.5 hours of talking and up to 70 hours of idle mode.
Along with HBH-60 the company announced an FM tuner Sony Ericsson HPR-20 including Bluetooth hands-free as well. HBH-60 and HPR-20 are expected for sale closer to Christmas. Source: InfoSync
AMD cuts Mobile Athlon XP wholesale prices On the heels of yesterday Mobile Athlon XP 2000+/1900+ price cut, AMD announced the same for over 1,000-unit quantities of Mobile Athlon XP.
Pioneer DVR-A05-J: new speeds of DVD-R/RW recording Early in October Pioneer is to sell the new DVR-A05-J DVD-R/RW, providing 4x DVD-R recording and 2x DVD-RW recording. It´s interesting that these new standards (DVD-R for General Version 2.0 / 4X-SPEED DVD-R Revision 1.0 and DVD-RW Version 1.1 / 2X-SPEED DVD-RW Revision 1.0, respectively) were ratified by DVD Forum only in August.To reduce vibrations, the company used DRA (Dynamic Resonance Absorber), familiar to Pioneer DVD-ROM users. DVR-A05-J also utilizes new chassis. Recording speeds are: DVD-R 4È, DVD-RW 2È, CD-R 16x, CD-RW 8x; read speeds are: DVD-R/RW 6x, DVD-ROM 12x, CD-ROM 32 x. DVR-A05-J features 2MB buffer. DVR-A05-J can work under Windows 98 SE/ME/2000/XP. The expected retail price is about $290.
DVR-A05-J will start simultaneously with the sales of new 4x DVS-RP470A DVD-R blanks ($5.8 per unit), DVS-RP470AP5 (the same, 5-blank pack) for $25, and 2x DVS-RWP470A DVD-RW blanks for $7.5 per unit and 5-blank DVS-RWP470AP5 packs for about $33.
Handspring ships Treo 90 to Europe Today most of Handspring European websites posted the press release about shipments of new color Treo 90, announced in June.The new device bases on 33 MHz Motorola Dragonball VZ, Palm OS 4.1H, features 16MB RAM, SD/MMC slot, rechargeable battery, and a built-in backlit QWERTY keyboard. Treo 90 dimensions are 108x71x16 mm, weight is 113 g. The recommended price (at least in UK) is 249 pounds (w/taxes).
Leadtek announces WinFast A280 and WinFast A180 graphics cards on NVIDIA GeForce4 AGP 8x Today Leadtek added new AGP 8x series to its WinFast 3D line: WinFast A280 and WinFast A180, based on the new (and yet unannounced) NVIDIA NV18 and NV28.WinFast A280 series, supporting AGP 8x, continues A250 line and includes MyVIVO cards.
WinFast A280 DDR TH MyVIVO is based on NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 AGP8X, and has 64MB DDR. WinFast A180 series is also based on the new GeForce4 MX AGP 8x and includes MyVIVO product. Combined with Leadtek WinFast Cinema Box, WinFast A180 TH MyVIVO turns into a ready PC multimedia solution.

SonyEricsson T100: expected in Q1 2003 According to industry sources, SonyEricsson plans to release the new dual-range SonyEricsson T100 in Q1 2003.Phone dimensions are 99x43.5x18 mm (10 sq.cm), weight 75 g, screen 101x67, 4-scale gray. The phone will have three body variants: Icy Blue, Gentle Gold, and Fresh White. T100 battery will provide 4.5 hours of talking or up to 200 hours of idle mode. the novelty features 5 games, WAP browser and EMS, at that users can select from 30 pictures, 15 animations, and 10 tones. There´s no information about pricing and shipments date.
