Samsung to launch 6G TFT LCD fab Samsung reported plans to use 1370x1670 mm glass substrates in its 6G TFT LCD production and standardize this size worldwide. One 1370x1670 mm substrate yields to six 30" and sixteen 19" TFT LCD panels. Current 5G fabs utilize 1100x1250 mm substrates yielding to three 30" and nine 19", respectively. So, if production yield grows, LCD prices will be cut considerably. Industry sources report the price of 15" panels to reach $10 per inch this year, when 5G fab production achieves better pace.
