aJ-100WRP: wireless Java communicator from aJile Systems
aJile Systems from California announced the release of aJ-100WRP reference wireless communication platform supporting voice control, Internet access and secured eCommerce transactions. aJ-100WRP bases on Java (ïó J2ME / CLDC / MIDP).
aJile Systems plans to license its aJ-100WRP platform to developers of PDAs, smartphones, game consoles, mobile POS terminals, wireless tablets, etc.

The platform bases on the proprietary aJ-100 (its specifications are not unveiled even in the detailed .pdf document), has 8MB PSRAM, 8MB Flash ROM, 3.5" TFT LCD display supporting 320È240 (QVGA) and 65K color depth, wireless comm port (supporting dual-range GSM/GPRS or CDMA), MP3 decoder, FM synth, IEEE 1149 (JTAG), USB port, QWERTY keyboard, MMC and CompactFlash slot, IrDA port; supports CMOS cam, stereo headphones and mic.

The platform requires rechargeable Li-Ion batteries, works under Sun J2ME / CLDC / MIDP, and has a number of utililites pre-installed: MIDP application manager (JAM), address book, scheduler, calculator, clock, notebook, host sync, phonebook, call history, mail client, HTML browser, SMS client, a player for streaming video, MP3, MIDP games.
The novelty is said to be the only serious Java mobile platform in its class. Nevertheless, there´s no data of its licensing by any serious market player.
