AMD has completed its DirectX 11 series and taken care of nearly all price ranges. The last to be rolled out are the low-end RADEON HD 56xx series (cheaper than $100) and ultralow-end RADEON HD 55xx/54xx series (cheaper than $70).

Today we are going to review ATI RADEON HD 5760 (formerly codenamed Redwood) -- the company's latest offering which supports all recent innovations. Priced a bit cheaper than $100, this solution succeeds RADEON HD 4670, providing higher performance and richer features.

We shall test two cards: the reference one and a product from HIS. There's no need to describe DirectX 11 and other new features, as we have already done that while reviewing RADEON HD 5870.

As we can see, the layout resembles that of the preceding solution. The difference is that HD 4670 works with GDDR3 memory, while HD 5670 uses GDDR5. The power supply unit has also been modified due to different core and memory voltages.

This card features its own audio codec, so nothing else is required to output audio to HDMI.

This card has no additional power connectors.

Maximum resolutions and frequencies:

  • 240 Hz maximum refresh rate
  • 2048 x 1536 x 32bit @ 85Hz Max -- analog interface
  • 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz Max -- digital interface (Dual-Link DVI/HDMI)

As for the HDTV support, a review is available here.
