The lightest mode (no AA or anisotropy): X800 XT wins, 450 MHz can't save NV40. Insufficient bandwidth plays an increasingly dramatic role for such card. The heaviest mode (both AA and anisotropy): X800 XT wins easily, 450 MHz only narrowed the gap a little. Thus:
