Sharp Introduces 65V-inch LCD Monitor PN-655

Sharp will introduce into the Japanese market the PN-655 LCD Monitor made at the Kameyama Plant, which uses a 65V-inch full-spec high-definition LCD panel (resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels).


  • 65V-inch high-resolution, full-spec high-definition LCD panel (1,920 x 1,080) for CAD data and videoconferencing
  • Employs a "dual fine engine", which enables the display of both PC digital data and audio-visual images in full-spec high-definition.
  • Uses "picture in picture" and "picture by picture" functions to display various image sources simultaneously.
  • Strengthened functions for commercial use, such as a fanless design, remote control functions, and capability of around the clock operations.
  • Screen brightness: 400 cd/m2
  • Contrast ratio: 700:1
  • Viewing angle Vertical: 170°, horizontal 170° (CR10)

The novelty will be introduced in Japan on March 24, 2006. Its price is still open.

Tyan Introduces Transport PX22 For SMBs

Tyan introduced the Transport PX22 (B2865), a business server tower solution based on AMD AMD64 technology, badged as an AMD True Server Solution, and featuring nVIDIA's nForce4 Ultra core-logic.

  • Flexible and scalable pedestal/tower chassis enclosure with a totally tool-less design
  • Support for 1 x AMD Opteron 100 series 32/64-bit single or dual core processor
  • Up to 4GB of Unbuffered DDR400 (PC3200) memory with ECC option
  • 2 x Gigabit network ports for fast connectivity
  • Multiple PCI Express slots [incl. 1 x PCIe x16] and PCI legacy slots
  • Internal SATA-II/3G with RAID, and optional hot-swap drive kit
  • Built-in server-class video controller by ATIŽ
  • Built-in 450W power supply with PFC
  • Optional front LCD kit for server hardware monitoring
  • Compatibility with Microsoft Small Business Server 2003

The Transport PX22 (B2865) is currently sampling, and will reach mass production levels by late Q1'06.
