Albatron Announces GeForce 7300 GS Graphics Cards
Albatron has announced the GeForce 7300 GS series, PCI-Express VGA cards.
The GeForce 7300 GS series uses Turbo Cache technology which allows a VGA card to borrow portions of system memory. Albatron's 7300 GS series includes cards with 64 MB, 128 MB and 256 MB of on-board memory. These cards use the newer Turbo Cache 2.0 technology which makes more efficient use of on-board memory which requires less read access from system memory. The memory bus is 64-bit. The amount of total memory available to the card using Turbo Cache is dependant on the onboard memory and the amount of system memory available as described by the table below.
The GeForce 7300 GS GPU, previously codenamed G72, contains 4 Pixel Shader pipelines and 3 Vertex Shaders. The default core clock is 550 MHz. It also supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0c, Shader Model 3.0 programming standards and HDR (High Dynamic Range Lighting). This GPU is also geared up with NVIDIA's PureVideo technology which provides non-CPU invasive, DVD-player quality encoding and decoding facilities and also includes HDTV capabilities.

IBM Unveils New Multifunction Systems
IBM Printing Systems Division announced four new multifunction printers (MFPs) that can print, copy, scan and fax.
Four multifunction devices accommodate almost any size workgroup:
- The IBM Infoprint 1540 is an A3/ledger multifunction device for small to medium workgroups that prints at up to 35 pages per minute (ppm); $11,542
- The IBM Infoprint 1560 is an A3/ledger multifunction device for medium workgroups that prints at up to 45 ppm; $12,858.
- The IBM Infoprint 1570 is an A4/letter compact multifunction device for small to medium workgroups that prints at up to 50 ppm; $3,259;
- The IBM Infoprint 1580 is an A3/ledger multifunction device for large workgroups that prints up to 55 ppm; $14,462.
All of these models include integrated 8-inch color touch screen that provides an intuitive operator access to the MFP functions. A "scan preview" feature can verify that appropriate settings have been selected, the document orientation is not upside down, and the correct side of the page was scanned.
When used with the hard drive, Custom Job and Job Build features can combine multiple scanning jobs into a single job. The devices also support copy quality adjust, reduction and enlargement, separator sheets, margin shift, edge erase, date/time stamp.
The fax and e-mail functions allow operators to scan items and fax or e-mail them to one or more recipients directly from the MFP. Destination shortcuts, like the speed dial numbers on a telephone or fax machine, can help decrease training time and increase end-user productivity. Administrators can monitor and manage network devices in an enterprise environment via a Web browser to maintain productivity.
There's also an optional wireless feature.
