ASUS Dual 6800U PCIE monsters caught in China VIA updates Luke CoreFusion platform IBM sells new Sonoma and P4 based notebooks ASUS Dual 6800U PCIE monsters caught in China You all remember the Gigabyte 3D1 graphics card on dual GeForce 6600GT GPUs — it was nice. But at the moment in China you can already take a look at the new monster from ASUS based on dual GeForce 6800Ultra PCIE GPUs. ![]() Although not much is known, you can already imagine the huge PCB dimensions of this novelty (based on the size of a standard DVI connector, the size of the card is to be about 337x172mm, which even exceeds the full-size PCI dimensions). Besides two GeForce 6800 GPUs the card is said to have 512MB GDDR3 memory, 400MHz/1100MHz clock rates, and, naturally, the 6-pin connector for additional power. Since no official release date has been disclosed, we can only hope it won´t take long and, which is also important, that the price of this powerhouse will be at least close to the "nearly affordable". VIA updates Luke CoreFusion platform Two years after the announcement of Mark CoreFusion platform at CeBIT 2003, VIA, at Embedded System Conference, introduced the updatd platform named Luke CoreFusion Processing Platform. It´s interesting that VIA names its platforms after Evangelists according to their order in the New Testament. Luke CoreFusion supports x86-compatible processors with clock rates up to 1GHz, hardware security features, MPEG-2/4 acceleration, LVDS, DVI and TV interfaces. The platform bases on VIA Eden-N chipset with CN400 Northbridge, has integrated S3 Graphics UniChrome Pro core (2D/3D AGP8x), and supports DDR333/400 memory. The range of Southbridges include VT8235M, VT8237R and VT8251 (PCI Express).
