GlobeTrotter FUSION The company portfolio also includes GlobeTrotter FUSION solution supporting 2100 MHz UMTS, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS and Wi-Fi (802.11g/b + WEP/WPA).
Shuttle unveils nForce 4 SFF cube Shuttle today unveiled the industry-first barebone on NVIDIA nForce 4 with 1GHz HyperTransport and PCI-E x16 slot XPC SN-25 P. It´s a nice opportunity to build a powerful system on AMD64 processor. The barebone offers Gigabit LAN, FireWare 400, 8ch audio, SATA and PATA controllers (RAID 0, 1) for up to 3 x 3.5" hard drives. There´s also an optical drive bay and 8-in-1 card reader. The cube has 350W PSU and utilizes the proprietary 4G Silent X cooling system.
Albatron K8SLI motherboard: SLI always on and BIOS backed up Such interesting information about K8SLI motherboard from Albatron Technology was published at company´s Taiwanese website. This NVIDIA nForce4 SLI based board has compact dimensions of 196x292mm, but has all features of fully-fledged products: Unlike most SLI motherboards Albatron K8SLI always operates in the "8 PCI-E channels + 8 PCI-E channels" mode and doesn´t allow all 16 PCI-E channels on the primary slot. This is so because the board design differs from the reference that implies the hardware switch. Therefore a single graphics card will anyway use only 8 PCI-E channels. Another original innovation is the ABS (Albatron BIOS Security) technology that helps when BIOS is somehow damaged. The idea of a backup BIOS chip is not new, but is implemented in a somewhat original way: Albatron engineers placed it on an add-on mini-card that can be easily de-installed. The price is still unknown, but considering the lack of additional integrated controllers, it shouldn´t be high.
Polaroid x530 finally announced As you might remember, in June they released a new version of Foveon CCD sensors and promised to start selling the new Polaroid x530 digital camera on them in September 2004. According to Japanese sources, the novelty was to arrive to Japan in December, but arrived only now and only to North America after it was showcased at PMA 2005. In Walmart stores it costs almost $400. Late in March the camera is to arrive to Europe, but those impatient can already order it at the company website. Source: PC Watch
