Intel stopped the production of several of its processors, including 2.8, 3.0, 3.20 and 3.40 GHz P4 (all 800 MHz FSB; Northwood) made using 0.13µm process (both boxed and tray).

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe: starting the new motherboard series

The date of ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe availability for sale has been revealed. According to Japanese sources, the model will go on sale early in December.

Clones are attacking — companies are all about announcing 6600GT AGP cards. This time AOpen released its Aeolus 6600GT-DV128 with 128 MB of GDDR-3 (Micro BGA), TV-Out, D-Sub, DVI. Core clock is 500 MHz, fill rate — 4 billion texels/sec, draw rate — 375 million vertices/sec

Philips unveils miniature FM tuners for mobile handsets

Philips unveiled a series of chips designed for making compact FM tuners that can be integrated into a mobile phone, CD/MP3 player, PDA, etc.

Each novelty stands out with its own peculiarities. For example, TEA5767 requires low power and TEA5777 supports AM range.

TEA5761, the smallest one, is made using WL-CSP (Wafer Level — Chip Scale Packaging) and is a wafer of silicon crystal plates. As the I/O connections were redesigned with some of them removed, TEA5761-based solutions require thrice less PCB space.

Some of TEA5764 are also shipped in WL-CSP package, but they primarily stand out with RDS (Radio Data System) support (that provides various information like station name, current track, news, ads, etc.) RDS also simplifies tuning.

Clio NXT PDA from Data Evolution: after five years of silence...

After the five-year delay Data Evolution announced the updated version of Clio NXT PDA. Like the one introduced five years ago, the PDA has fully-fledged keyboard, 9.4" display rotating to 180°, Windows CE .NET 4.2 Professional.

This proves company´s plans (though they have promised 12.1" display).

The new model supports Wi-Fi 802.11b and bases on 400 MHz Intel Xscale. Besides, it features a USB port, flash media slots, IR-port and Ethernet adapter. Shipments are scheduled to early 2005.
