MSI announces XA52P, a SATA DVD/CD-ROM
Taiwanese Micro-Star International announced the first SATA DVD device supporting NCQ (Native Command Queuing), XA52P.

In a separate note the company stated that the model works only with Intel 875P / 865PE / 865G / 865GV / 865P / 848P chipsets and doesn´t support PCI SATA controllers. The DVD-ROM is RPC-II (i.e. only 4 regional code changes accepted).

S/U/M/A/ unveiled its new RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition graphics card on R420XT GPU. The model has 256 MB GDDR3 SDRAM (1.6ns, BGA, 256-bit bus).

The card has 520/1120 MHz clock rate and supports SMARTSHADER HD, SMOOTHVISION HD, 3Dc, HYPER Z HD, VIDEOSHADER
HD, DirectX 9. Interfaces include D-Sub, DVI, S-Video.

Thermaltake introduces expandable CoolPad cooler for notebooks
Thermaltake introduced CoolPad(CL-O0004), expandable cooler for 8" to 15" notebooks. It has two 60mm fans with 23dB noise and aluminium heatsinks. Besides cooling, the novelty also provides a 4-port USB hub. CoolPad will go on sale in August.

In the basic variant the cooler powers from USB, but an AC adapter option is provided.
