Pocket LOOX v70 — a local variant of LOOX 720?

Fujitsu informed that in mid-June Pocket LOOX v70 is to hit the stores. The novelty will have a 1.3Mp CMOS camera and a localized Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (thus it´s not likely to be sold outside Japan).

The camera has 4.56mm focal length, F2,8, 60cm to inf. focusing distance, 1280x960 max. resolution. SD and CF cards will be utilized to store photos on.

The 3.7" LCD display has 480x640(VGA) resolution and can work in both portrait and landscape modes. The model is based on 520 MHz Intel PXA270 CPU, 128MB RAM, 64MB flash memory, and supports IEEE 802.11b networks. As already mentioned, the device has SD slot (with SDIO Now! support), CompactFlash Type II slot, as well as IrDA and USB ports.

Li-Ion battery provides about 13 hours of operation, while an optional battery provides 20 hours already. USB interface enables to power up the device while it´s connected to PC.

Sized 73x16.9x118 mm, it weighs about 165 g. In general the novelty resembles Pocket Loox 720 that is to be sold in Europe and USA, and differs mostly by appearance.

IO-Data GH and G: lead-free ecological memory modules

IO-Data is to launch sales of lead-free GH and G memory module series that also halogen compounds.

GH series includes Unbuffered and ECC DDR SDRAM 400/333 MHz (PC3200/2700) modules with 256MB to 1GB capacities and also 128-512 MB PC133 SDRAM.

The lead-free modules meet the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) standard that will take effect in two years in the European Union.
