GeIL offers 533MHz SDRAM DDR2 DIMMs in capacities of 512MB and 1 GB. GeIL DDR2 Features:
Photo of the day: three Sapphire PCI Express graphics cards in our lab We are currently testing three graphics cards from Sapphire, including Atlantis X600XT 128MB PCI-E (500/340 MHz), Atlantis X600PRO 128MB PCI-E (400/300 MHz) and Atlantis X300SE 128MB PCI-E (200/200 MHz).
VAIO 505 EXTREME: Sony´s lightest Sony released a new VAIO 505 EXTREME notebook weighting just 780g. The model will go on sale on July 10 with MSRP of ¥250,000 ($2290).
Sony VAIO 505 EXTREME features: The notebook is said to work standalone for 3 hours. Accessories include external DVD±RW, IEEE802.11a/b/g adapter, etc. Source: PC Watch
What leading chipset vendors plan to offer us Japanese PC Watch introduced a piece of interesting information related to new products of some of the leading chipset vendors. In Q3 Intel is expected to unveil two i91x chipset series, including entry-level Socket 478 and Socket T solutions. i915GV will actually be a i915G without external graphics support. The P4 LGA775 model with 533/800 MHz FSB will support DDR333/400 SDRAM or DDR2-400/553 SDRAM (dual-channel configuration). Alongside there will be i910GL Socket 478 chipset that will support only dual-channel DDR333/400 SDRAM.
Competitors also prepare new Socket-T products. In mid-Q3 VIA is to announce the discrete PT980 supporting DDR2-400/533/667, while integrated PM890 is to see the light in Q4. Both will support Socket T and Socket 478 processors, DDR2 up to 667 MHz. SiS 656 and single-channel SiS 649 will be shipping from mid and late Q3 on respectively. Integrated version of SiS656, SiS 662, will go on shipping in mid-2004. It´s interesting that 662 features Mirage 1 DirectX 7 core instead of initially planned DirectX 9 one. All three chipsets will work with LGA775 and Socket 478 processors. The top-end SiS656 will support DDR2-667 SDRAM, while in Q1 2005 we should expect DDR2-800-enabled 656FX. ATI is also going to introduce single/dual-channel Socket T chipsets supporting DDR/DDR2, respectively RS400 and RG400. Both will feature MOBILITY RADEON 9600 (M10) integrated graphics. ULi M1685, a single-channel DDR/DDR2 solution, should be expected in Q4, while in Q2 2005 the company will announce dual-channel M1691. Besides, VIA will unveil discrete K8T890 and integrated K8M890 for AMD platform. The former will support PCI Express x16 and AGP 8x, while the latter will work with PCI Express x16 and DeltaChrome IGP graphics.
SiS will also introduce solutions for AMD platform: integrated SiS 760GX with Mirage 1 graphics core and AGP 8x support in Q4 2004, SiS 761GX PCI Express x16 model late in Q4 2004, SiS 761 PCI Express x16 and Mirage 3 (DirectX 9 core already) in Q1 2005.
