BenQ DW1620 and DW1610: two new 16x DVD recorders

BenQ announced two new DVD recorders, DW1620 and DW1610, that are expected to go on sale this month with MSRP of $130 and $150, respectively.

DW1610 provides the following recording speeds: 8x DVD-R, 16x DVD+R (177.28 Mbps; about 6 minutes for a 4.7GB blank), 4x DVD+RW, 40x CD-R, 24x CD-RW. Read speeds are 40x CD and 16x DVD.

DW1620 is almost identical to DW1610, but also supports 2.4x DVD+R DL (dual-layer) recording.

OCZ introduces PC2-4300 Enhanced Bandwidth DDR2 Platinum Edition

OCZ Technology updated its Platinum Edition series with DDR2-533 SDRAM Enhanced Bandwidth modules. Traditionally PC2-4300 products feature copper platinum-coloured reflective heatsinks. Novelties are offered both separately (256MB, OCZ2533256EBPE; and 512MB OCZ2533512EBPE), and in kits (512MB, 2x256MB, OCZ2533512EBEDCPE-K and 1GB, 2x512MB, OCZ25331024EBEDCPE-K).

Modules require 1.8V voltages and have CL 4-3-3-12 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS) timings. Similar to some other company products, PC2-4300 modules utilize Extended Voltage Protection (EVP) technology, so users can overclock them up to 2.2Vą5% without risking the warranty.
