3Dlabs announces Wildcat Realizm 800, 200, 100 professional graphics cards

3Dlabs announced new Wildcat Realizm 800, Wildcat Realizm 100 and 200 professional graphics cards, of which the former supports PCI Express, while the rest support AGP8x. According to the press release, Wildcat Realizm 800 will go on sale in Q3 this year with MSRP of about $2800.

The top model will have 512MB GDDR3. Besides, it will have 128MB of DirectBurst memory for geometry-intensive application performance. Therefore these total 640MB of memory have total bandwidth of 64GB/s. The distinctive feature of the novelty is Wildcat Realizm Vertex / Scalability Unit (VSU) with up to 700 GFLOPS performance. The card also has 2 x double-link DVI-I and stereo interface.

Other features include higher virtual memory capacity of up to 256GB for improving performance in 64-bit systems, the largest shader memory capacity (instructions are divided into 256KB blocks), and the new cooling system.

As for Wildcat Realizm 100 and 200, they also feature GDDR3 memory: 256MB and 512MB, respectively, 32GB/s, support OpenGL 1.5, DirectX 9.0 HLSL (Vertex Shader 2.0 and Pixel Shader 3.0). These products will go on sale in August with MSRP of $1250 (Realizm 100) and $1600 (Realizm 200). Wildcat Realizm 100 also features 2 x single-link DVI-I and stereo interfaces and is bundled with two DVI-VGA adapters. Wildcat Realizm 200 has 2 x dual-link DVI-I interfaces.

Panasonic unveils NV-GS400K, a 3CCD MiniDV camera

Panasonic unveiled NV-GS400K camera based on 3CCD system. The novelty is to go on sale late in July. If you remember, NV-MX5000 was one of the first in this class. And recently Matsushita has introduced NV-GS200K model which NV-GS400K bases on.

According to the model name, the novelty supports 4-megapixel (2288x1728) static images. Other features are:

  • 1/4.7" CCD

SMART Modular introduces low-profile registered DDR2 SDRAM DIMM

SMART Modular Technologies introduced the new low-profile 240-pin registered DDR2 SDRAM DIMM modules with 512 MB, 1GB and 2GB capacities. These 1" novelties are 15% lower than standard PC2-3200 and PC2-4300. While usual 1U systems utilize 1.8" modules, the convergency of server blades and comms dictates newer requirements.

The new 2GB modules are based on 512Mbit (128x4) stacked BGA elements, while 1GB ones base on solid chips. The low-profile modules are introduced in both usual, and lead-free variants. They have 200MHz and 267MHz clock rates and 3.2GB/s and 4.3GB/s throughput, respectively.
