DK8X supports up to 2 x Opterons, HyperTransport; features AGP Pro/8x and PCI-X slots.

Renesas announces 18 and 36 Mbit QDR II SRAM Renesas Technology America, Inc., a joint venture of Hitachi, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric, announced a line of high-speed QDR II (Quad Data Rate-II) SRAM chips with 18 and 36 Mbit capacities for networking and comms, in particular for high-end routers and switches.  Used as buffer memory, new 0.13µm chips provide up to 1.33Gb/s throughput. Chips are packed into 165-pin FBGA (15x17mm) packages.
New 133/167/200/250 MHz 36Mbit chips with 2-word packets provide 7.5/6.0/5.0/4.0 ns clock times; 167/200/250/300/333 MHz chips with 4-word packets provide 6.0/5.0/4.0/3.3/3.0 ns clock times.
LL530/7A — a new member of NEC´s LaVie L series NEC extended its LaVie L series with LL530/7A to be sold for about $1205 in retail. It is equipped with 14.1" display, and, according to the manufacturer, features 20% higher brightness compared to the previous models.  LaVie L LL530/7A is based on Athlon XP-M 1800+ (SiS 740 chipset); features 256Mb of PC2100 RAM (up to 768Mb), 40Gb HDD, built-in DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo. Traditionally the notebook has an integrated LAN controller, PC Card Type II slot, 3 x USB2.0 ports, IEEE FireWire port, D-Sub connector. Model dimensions are 330x268x35 mm, weight – 3.1 kg; battery life time is about 1.5 hours.

  Photo of the day: Gainward Powerpack FX Ultra/1600 XP "Golden Sample" with CoolFX water cooling We obtained a very interesting graphics card sample — Gainward´s Powerpack FX Ultra/1600 XP equipped with Innovatek´s CoolFX water cooling system. This card has higher 500/1000MHz clock speeds instead of the standard 450/850MHz. The cooling system is worth a special mention as well. But the MSRP of this package is 900 euros and that is rather confusing, don´t you think?. Anyway, let´s leave the details for the review and now you just take a look at the photos:
      Pentax releases new 5Mp Optio 555 Pentax announced its new 5Mp Pentax Optio 555 digital camera to arrive to retail late in September. The new model bases on the previous 550 and mostly differs by improved 3cm Super Macro (vs. 5.5cm) and the Strobo feature.
