Soltek unleashes EQ3401 mini barebones

Soltek unleashed new QBiC Mini Barebones, EQ3401. Sized 21.5x33x20cm, they feature 2 x USB, Mic-In, Line-In, 1 x IEEE1394 port, SPDIF on the front panel.

Back panel offers VGA port, 2 x COM ports, optional LPT, keyboard and mouse connectors, 4 x USB2.0 ports, 1 x USB1.1 port, Fast Ethernet 1/10/100 LAN, 2 x IEEE1394a, etc.

Models provide two 5.25" and two 3.5" bays. Based on Intel 865G (GMCH)+ ICH5 chipset, EQ3401´s motherboard, SL-B8E-F, (180x255mm) supports Socket 478 Intel P4 with 533/800MHz FSB, up to 2Gb 400/333/266 DDR SDRAM; features 6-ch. AC97 codec, RTL8100B LAN; supports SATA drives.

Titan Computer released new TTC-K8ATB/825/SC coolers for AMD Opteron and Athlon 64 products. Their heatsinks feature polished copper base, and coolers themselves have a speed control for noise reduction.

ASUS achieves record shipments in July

According to Taiwanese mass media, referring to Asustek Computer vice president, shipments of notebooks, optical drives and PDAs achieved record values.

Provisional data indicate that company shipped at least 2.3 million motherboards vs. 2.1 million in June. This value doesn´t include shipments of ASRock daughter enterprise.

Considerable sales growth touched budget X Series, firstly announced in Q1. Already next quarter their shipping share made 30% of all ASUS models. In Q3 this value should grow to 35%, according to the forecasts.

As July has just ended, there´s no data on other product lines. The considerable growth ASUS relates to the activity on both OEM, and DIY markets.
