ECS announces K7S7AG and P4S8AG mobos with integrated Xabre 200 GPU
Today Elitegroup (ECS) announced two new mobos — Game Union 648 (P4S8AG) and Game Union 746 (K7S7AG) – for Intel Pentium 4 and AMD K7, respectively, with built-in AGP 8õ Xabre 200 GPU and 64MB of DDR SDRAM.
Game Union 648 (P4S8AG) specs:

Intel announced Xeon DP; E7501, E7205, E7505 chipset and other hi-end novelties
Today Intel announced a number of new products for the high-end server market, including four new Intel Xeons; E7501, E7205, E7505 chipsets and five new server platforms.
New Intel Xeon with 2.8, 2.6, 2.4, 2.0 GHz clock and 533MHz FSB are made using 0.13-micron process, feature 512KB L2 cache and are designed for high-performance dual-CPU workstations and servers.
Intel E7501 is designed for dual-processor servers on 533MHz FSB Xeons supporting Hyper-Threading. It includes Intel E7501 Memory Controller Hub (MCH, 1005-pin FC-BGA), Intel 82801CA (ICH, 421-pin BGA), 64-bit PCI/PCI-X Intel 82870P2 controller (567-pin FC-BGA).
Intel E7505 (former Placer) is intended for dual-processor workstations on Intel Xeon and features Intel E7505 (MCH, 1005-pin FC-BGA), 64-bit PCI/PCI-X Intel 82870P2 controller (567-pin FC-BGA), Intel 82801DB I/O controller (421-pin µBGA).
Intel E7205 (Granite Bay) is meant for entry-level single- and dual-processor Intel Pentium 4 workstations. It has Intel E7205 (MCH, 1005-pin FC-BGA), Intel 82801DB I/O controller (421-pin µBGA).
Both workstation products support USB 2.0 and AGP 8x; all chipsets support dual-channel DDR, and Intel E7501 and E7505 also support 64-bit PCI/PCI-X.
Besides, the company has also announced 5 new server platforms on new processors and chipsets, supporting innovations like Intel PRO/1000 MT Server Network Connections, AGP 8x, Serial ATA, Ultra320 SCSI, Intel Server Management 5.5 software. Server platforms will be shipped within two weeks, though some of them – in Q1 2003. Shipments of new 2.8, 2.6, 2.4, 2.0 GHz Intel Xeons with 533MHz FSB have already started. In over 1,000-unit quantities chips cost $455, $337, $234, and $198, respectively. Intel E7501, Intel E7505, and Intel E7205 shipments have already started. Wholesale prices make $92, $100, and $57, respectively.
NVIDIA announces GeForce FX
Yesterday NVIDIA announced the release of new generation GPUs, formerly codenamed NV30 and officially named NVIDIA GeForce FX.
Naturally, this release is a major step for the graphics industry:
- GPU core – about 125 million transistors
- Process — 0.13-micron
- 3 geometry processors — more than enough for DX9 VS 2.0
- 8 pixel processors — more than enough for DX9 PS 2.0
- 128-bit DDR II interface
- 4-channel switching memory controller
- Local memory bandwidth saving technology, including the complete color and depth buffer compression (world-first 4:1 compression)
- Programmable array of 16 texture filter blocks, up to 8 selected and filtered per tick
- AGP 3.0 (8õ)
- Tile optimization: caching, compression, HSR
- High integer (10/16-bit per component) and floating point (16/32-bit per component) precision of texture and frame buffer
- 32-bit floating point operations, new adaptive anisotropic filtering to reduce FPS falloffs
- Up to 128x anisotropy
- New ÀÀ modes — MSAA 8õ and hybrid MS/SSAA 6x
- Frame buffer compression
- Dual 400MHz RAMDACs
- External TV-Out interface
- Dual TDMS for external DVI

Note 128MB of 128-bit DDR II (8 Samsung chips, 1 GHz DDR), external power connector. DVI, TV-Out, and VGA output. The official GPU clock is 500MHz, but it should raise in the future, I guess. Though read about it in the review.
