Triplex is to start sales of TRIPLEX Millennium Silver TX680 AGP 8x on NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440-8X GPU.
The card has 64MB of 2.8 ns 128-bit DDR SGRAM in MicroBGA packaging (DDR 8x16-2.8), operating at 600 MHz. GF4 MX440-8X clock is 300 MHz. The card features VIVO (TV-in/TV-out) functionality, analog and DVI out. Coated with silver like other Triplex novelties, TX-680 is also supplied with S-Video cable.
Sales volumes made $2.7 billion, 4% lower than $2.9 billion of the previous quarter. The dead loss (GAAP) made $111 million, or $0.04 per stock, that´s lower than $180 million or $0.06 per stock year ago. Excluding $31 million for stocks purchase, $24 million restructuring expenses, and $22 million taxes, the loss made $78 million, or $0.02 per stock.Micron Technology is to announce DDR-II server platform prototype at JEDEX Beijing in Peking.
It is made using proprietary memory controllers and features special analysis software. Micron will also announce other prototypes supporting DDR-II, DDR400, and DDR333. I hope more info to follow from the Peking conference.
According to IC Insights´ data, chip market(except for discrete) will make $119.8 billion in 2002, that´s not much higher than $118.5 billion of 2001. Analysts believe the main reason of industry growth forecast reduction to be international gross revenues forecast decrease. IC Insights thinks that in 2002 electronic sales volumes will grow just 6% over 2001 volumes; 2003 growth will make just 5%.
Regional market activity is interesting as well. In 2002 American, European and Japanese semiconductor markets will decrease by 12%, 10%, 8%, respectively. Remaining markets will grow by 29%.
