3Dlabs announces one entry level and two AGP 8x Wildcat4 cards
Yesterday 3Dlabs, the subsidiary of Creative Technology, announced two Wildcat4 AGP 8x high-end workstation cards: Wildcat4 7210 and Wildcat4 7110, and an entry level Wildcat VP560 for CAD/DCC apps and web graphics processing.
Wildcat4 7210 and Wildcat4 7110, to appear in November mainly in Windows 2000/XP systems from leading OEM makers, support AGP 8È / AGP Pro 50, feature 2 È DVI-I, 2 È 10-bit 320 MHz RAMDAC, are supplied with AutoCAD, 3ds max, and also Linux drivers. Wildcat4 7210 has 384MB RAM (128MB frame, 256MB texture), Wildcat4 7110 256MB (128MB frame, 128MB texture). The approximate price will be over $1200.
Wildcat VP560 has 64MB DDR, 2 x DVI-I. European and North American shipments have already started. The suggested price of Wildcat VP560 is $249.
Besides, 3Dlabs announced 3Dlabs Acuity Driver Suite unified driver suite for Wildcat VP series, already supplied with Wildcat VP560. The suite includes optimized and certified OpenGL/Direct3D drivers for professional apps, 3ds max R4 driver, and Acuity Window Manager utility for dual-monitor optimizations.
