iBIZ announces Pocket PC FM radio

Besides a new Palm keyboard, iBIZ Corp. today announced FM radio module, installed into Compact Flash slot.


In the future the company plans to announce some more similar products to diversify experience of Pocket PC owners.

Sony CLIE PEG-NX70V: a digital still Pocket PC

Sony updated CLIE NX series with PEG-NX70V and PEG-NX60 models.


New Pocket PCs are based on ARM-compatible 200 MHz CPU, are controlled by Palm OS 5. They also feature 802.11b module for wireless connectivity. But the main feature is a built-in 311,000-pixel digital camera of PEG-NX70V, supporting digital still images (640x480) and MPEG-4 movies.

Other features are: 320È480 LCD resolution, built-in MP3 player, AV remote control functions, Jog Dial. Supported media — Memory Stick.

PEG-NX70V and PEG-NX60 are expected for sale in November for $600 and $500. Wi-Fi PEGA-WL100 is also available for $150.

NEC announces 30-inch LCD

In the near future NEC-Mitsubishi is to present new 30-inch NEC LCD3000.


The monitor features IPS-TFT with 643x386 mm visible area, size ratio is 15:9. Maximum resolution is 1280x768 (W-XGA), maximum brightness is 450 candles/sq.m, contrast — 450:1, 170° horizontal and vertical viewing angle, response time — 25 ms.

The monitor features integrated stereo speakers (2x7W), DVI-D, D-Sub, and 5 BNC intefaces, and S-video. The remote control is provided by three means: using an infra-red control, over RS-232C, or with NaViSet utility over DDC/CI.

NEC LCD3000 weighs 17.5 kg, European shipments are to start late in October. The suggested price is 6254 euro.

Corsair announces new XMS3500 DDR DIMM modules, CAS=2.0

Today Canadian Corsair Memory announced two DDR DRAM modules, XMS3500 series — eXtreme Memory Speed ("XMS").


The first one, Corsair CMX512-3500C2 is a 512 MB module supporting 434 MHz, CAS (Column Access Strobe ) = 2.0. The second — CMX256A-3500C2 — is 256 MB in capacity and similar specs.

New XMS3500 modules are tested in the KT400 system based on ASUS A7V8X:

  • Memory bus clock: 2 x 217 MHz
  • CAS latency: 2.0
  • RAS: 4 ticks
  • RAS-to-CAS delay: 4 ticks
  • RAS active to precharge: 8 ticks
  • Command rate: 1T (1 tick)
  • Amount: 1 module per system

CMX256A-3500C2 are based on the same 5 ns 32M x 8 DDR SDRAM chips, as featured in CMX512-3500C2. They are shipped with black or platinum aluminium heat-sinks.

Crucial Technology announces Crucial Radeon 9700 Pro

Crucial Technology, a relatively new graphics market player, the subsidiary of Micron, announced the high-end Crucial Radeon 9700 Pro, based on ATI Radeon 9700 Pro GPU.


The novelty has 128MB 2.86 ns (up to 350 MHz) 256-bit DDR SDRAM, analog, DVI and TV outs; is supplied with 1.8m S-video and RCA cables, DVI => CRT converter, S-video => RCA adapter. The core clock rate is 325 MHz.

128MB Crucial Radeon 9700 Pro (CTV9700P128A28) costs $410.99 in retail and $369.89 on the company website.

IBiz Xela: Pocket PC keyboard/jacket/support

iBiz Corp. announced Xela tuckaway keyboard for Palm Universal Connector. Naturally, it´s hard to surprise anyone with a portable keyboard, but Xela outstands, also being a Pocket PC jacket/support, protecting the sensor screen when folded and supporting the device when unfolded.


The keyboard will cost about $60 in retail.

P4 Eliminator: a noiseless heat-sink for P4 from OCZ Technology

OCZ Technology announced new P4 Eliminator heat-sink for up to 3.0 GHz Socket 478 Intel Pentium 4.


According to OCZ Technology, polished copper P4 Eliminator will enable to use P4 systems without coolers in the most cases.

P4 Eliminator dimensions are 89.5x63.5x25 mm, it features 39 fins 0.55 mm thick. P4 Eliminator expected availability and pricing are undisclosed.

Inspire 5.1 Digital 5500: new 5.1-channel kit from Creative

According to provisional data, in October Creativeis to ship 5.1-channel Inspire 5.1 Digital 5500 kit.


Inspire 5.1 Digital 5500 is positioned as a 48W light version of 70W Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700. As for the rest both systems are alike, being supplied with external amplifier, featuring optical digital input and Dolby Digital and DTS support.

PNY Technologies announces new GF4 Ti 4200 8X graphics card and cuts prices

European PNY Europe announced new PNY Verto GeForce4 Ti 4200 128 MB AGP 8X graphics card, reduced prices for previous models. PNY Verto GeForce4 Ti 4200 128 MB AGP 8X has 128 MB DDR, clocked at 500 MHz.

Verto price cut made about 20% for Verto GeForce4 MX 4X, about 15% for Verto GeForce4 Ti 4600 4X and about 12% per Verto GeForce4 Ti 4200 4X.

Current prices are:

  • PNY Verto GeForce4 MX 420 PCI — 129 euro
  • PNY Verto GeForce4 MX 440 AGP 4X — 119 euro
