BearPaw 2400TA PRO provides 1200x2400 dpi optical resolution, BearPaw 4800TA PRO 2400x4800 dpi, up to 19200x19200 dpi interpolated. The improved driver enables to scan compressed JPEG images directly tp files without display output, and automatically remove the document background in the GrayScale mode. Besides, the package includes the following software: "one-click" utility, Photo Express, and FineReader 4.0 Sprint. The suggested retail prices are: BearPaw 2400TA PRO $108, BearPaw 4800TA PRO $158.
Canon announces PIXUS printer series Canon announced four new ink printers, belonging to PIXUS series.![]() High-end PIXUS 950i is the leader of PIXUS I serie. Costing 59800 yens ($500), it supports up to 4800È1200 dpi resolution, 3072 colors. PIXUS 950i utilizes methods of reducing ink spot granularity and supports CD-R printing. Dimensions are 418È274È160 mm, interface USB 2.0.
![]() PIXUS 850i is less expensive and supports less colors (1600), but the same 4800È1200 dpi resolution. 850i printing speed is 22 b/w or 14 color pages per min. Dimensions are 418È274È159 mm, interfaces parallel port and USB 1.1. The price is 44800 yens ($375).
![]() Next one, PIXUS 550i, supports 1088 colors and provides 18 b/w and 11 color pages per min. Interfaces: parallel port and USB 1.1, dimensions: 418È274È159 mm. The printer costs 29800 yens ($250).

AMD announces Athlon XP 2800+ and 2700+ Yesterday evening AMD officially announced new Athlon XP 2800+ and 2700+ processors.![]() Athlon XP 2800+ is now the fastest Athlon XP processor. It works on 333 MHz FSB and supports 166.6 MHz DDR clock rate. Athlon XP 2800+ costs $397 in over 1,000-unit quantities, 2700+ $349. Athlon XP 2600+ price cut has not yet been annnounced.
