EVIL COMMANDO X: new Radeon 9500 card from PowerColor

Albatron presents two DDR333 boards on i845PE chipset

Again Japanese become the first to lay hands on boards, based on new unannounced i845PE chipset. Sales of Albatron PX845PEV PRO and PX845PEV started yesterday in Japan.

Both boards feature i845PE + ICH4 bundle and support current Socket 478 processors with 533 MHz FSB and PC2700 DDR SDRAM (DDR333). Northbridge (MCH) is marked RG82845PE SL6H5 L234A287.

PX845PEV PRO differs from PX845PEV by integrated 3COM 10Base-T/100Base-TX LAN. PX845PEV PRO costs 13800-14980 yens (about $115 — $125) and just slightly surpasses the price of Albatron DDR266 board on i845E chipset.

Another interesting fact: i845PE user´s manual contains data about unannounced i845GE novelties, supporting DDR333 and featuring integrated graphics. Albatron i845GE boards will be marked PX845GEV.

ALiMAGiK1 supports AMD Socket A processors with 333 MHz FSB

According to OC WorkBench, popular ALiMAGiK1 from ALi should support future AMD Socket A processors with 333 MHz FSB.

Referring to ALi representatives, they repotred that despite the support is unofficial and absent in ALiMAGiK1 specifications, there should be no problems.

Still, this will be useful as soon as mobo makers present updated BIOS versions. According to OC WorkBench, currently of all similar boards only ASUS A7A266 ALiMAGiK1 board is patched to support 333 MHz FSB, including Iwill XP333, ASUS A7A266, SOYO K7ADA.

EVIL COMMANDO X: new Radeon 9500 card from PowerColor

So, the novelty (no photos for now) supports AGP 8x and is fully compatible with DirectX 9.0. The card has 64MB of 128-bit DDR SDRAM clocked at 550 MHz. 4-pipeline graphics core supports HYPER Z III, TRUFORM 2.0, SMOOTHVISION 2.0, SMARTSHADER 2.0, VIDEOSHADER and FULLSTREAM.

The card has CRT, DVI-I and TV outs (PAL / NTSC) and is supplied with A/V, S-Video, power cables, DVI-CRT adapter, S-video — AV converter, user´s manual, drivers and DVD player disc.
