GIGABYTE Announces Next Generation ATI Radeon X1000-Series VGA Cards
GIGABYTE announced GV-RX18, GV-RX16 and GV-RX13 series that featuring new 90nm Radeon X1800, X1600 and X1300 GPUs from ATI.
The list of technologies includes ultra-threaded 3D core architecture, support for Microsoft Direct X 9.0 Shader Model 3.0, GIGABYTE's proprietary Turbo Force Technology and Silent-Pipe thermal design. The flag-ship GV-RX18 series also features 512-bit ring-bus memory controller, a new cache design and improved Hyper Z technology.
Moreover, there's 3Dc image enhancement technology and support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) that takes advantage of subtle light, texture, and color intricacies. This is achieved by representing color and intensity values with higher levels of precision to improve the details in terms of characters and scenes. Additionally, it also introduces an advanced anti-aliasing engine, dynamic soft shadow technology, and Parallax Occlusion Mapping that, through ray-tracing technology, simulates the natural ray refraction.
In addition to image quality improvement, the GV-RX18, GV-RX16 and GV-RX13 series are all equipped with a new modular video and display platform from ATI called Avivo that allows the user's PC to act as a media through its video pipeline design that includes the latest high definition video hardware acceleration. Avivo also makes it easy to connect all kinds of digital devices, such as home theater systems, LCD monitors, HDTVs, projectors, and notebooks.
