MSI 915P Neo2 Platinum, a novelty on i915P
Micro-Star International (MSI) unveiled the MSI 915P Neo2 Platinum motherboard on Intel 915P + ICH6R chipset for LGA775 Pentium 4 Prescott processors. Similar to competing solution, the board supports dual-channel DDR2-533 and PCI Express x16.
As chipset features were mentioned here, here we´ll say that theoretically the board can work with DDR2-667 from Samsung, Infineon, Micron, Hynix, Elpida, Kingston, Corsair, GeIL and Transcend. Besides, an additional VIA RAID provides RAID 0, 1, 0+1, JBOD for 4 x IDE drives.
Traditionally the board features CoreCell chips and provides the following features:
- V Power – dynamic CPU core voltage adjustment.
- SafeBIOS – automatic BIOS recovery from the "backup area"; based on CoreCell (MS-8)
- Meta I/O – provides support for various interfaces from S/PDIF, coaxial and optical to IEEE1394, etc.
Besides, the board features Communication slot that supports extended PCI specs and supports PCI network cards. For this slot MSI developed a proprietary Dual-Net card combining 802.11g and Bluetooth interfaces. This slot resulted in DigiCell interface redesign that now provides a quick way to transform a system into an access point or a wireless gateway.
