On the threshold of Computex 2004: VIA EPIA SP motherboard
At Computex 2004 VIA Technologies plans to introduce VIA EPIA SP Mini-ITX board on VIA CN400 Digital Media chipset that supports hardware MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 processing and features VIA PadLock Hardware Security Suite (implemented into 1.3GHz VIA C3 processor).
VIA PadLock Advanced Encryption Engine (ACE) supports AES encryption/decryption with 128-bit, 196-bit or 256-bit keys at 12.8Gbps rate at minimal CPU load. The engine features two VIA PadLock Random Number Generators (RNG) allowing for background operation not affecting tasks running. If you remember, a similar engine (with one RNG though) was implemented into VIA EPIA MII12000. Other motherboard specs are:
