November to bring chipsets from VIA and SiS
As the year-end is the best time to release new products, VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) are not going to lose the chance, so we should expect several announcements.
For Intel Pentium 4 VIA is expected to release new DDR-enabled P4X600 discrete chipset, and two integrated ones: P4M266A and P4M400. The latter includes Castle Rock graphics and is designed for the middle- and high-end markets.
SiS has already reported the decision to launch volume production of DDR333-enabled SiS655 in November.
As AMD Hammer release is delayed, both companies prepare new AMD Ê7 chipsets, as, according to AMD latest roadmaps, this platform´s life is to be prolonged. Rather successful KT400 and SiS746 models will be soon replaced by more advanced KT400A and SiS746FX.
