Cirrus Logic CS4272 and CS4271: new 24bit/192kHz codecs
At the current Audio Engineering Society Convention in Amsterdam Cirrus Logic announced two new 24bit/192kHz embedded stereo codecs — CS4272 and CS4271 – designed for high-end audio devices such as multi-band digital recorders, mixer consoles, car audio systems, digital video devices, etc.
CS4272 features differential analog architecture, while CS4271 – asymmetric architecture. Both chips include ADC and DAC modules. CS4272 provides 114dB dynamic range and –100dB THD+N for both ADC, and DAC. CS4271 dynamic range is 108dB ADC / 114dB DAC. Both chips are packed into low-profile 28-pin TSSOP packages, support 24bit/192kHz audio processing suitable for DVD-Audio solutions.
Volume production and shipments have already started. In over 10,000-unit quantities CS4272 costs $5.57, CS4271 — $4.87.
