Tyan announces Tomcat K8S (S2850) ATX board for single-processor Opteron-based servers

Tyan announced a new Tomcat K8S (S2850) motherboard for single-processor AMD Opteron-based servers.


This ATX model bases on AMD-8000 chipset; supports up to 8Gb of Registered PC1600, PC2100, PC2700 DDR with and without ECC, TYAN Server Management Daughter card (SMDC); has 6 x 32bit/33MHz PCI slots, 4 x USB1.1 ports, 2 x GbE/100/10 ports (Broadcom BCM5705), 8Mb PCI ATI Rage XL int. graphics, SATA controller (Silicon Image Sil3114, 4 channels, SATA RAID 0, 1, 0+1; only S2850G2NR).

Tomcat K8S (S2850) shipments have already started, the MSRP is 235 euros.
