The solution includes both a new internal hard drive for upgrade and tools to create an external storage device using the existing hard drive. The Hitachi Travelstar 2.5-inch Hard Drive Upgrade Kit will be available later this month at major retail stores nationwide. The new Travelstar upgrade kit consists of a 5400 RPM 40-100GB hard drive, complete installation instructions, Apricorn EZ Gig II Hard Drive Cloning and Upgrade software, a high-speed Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 hard drive enclosure (USB 1.1 compatible), a one-meter USB cable and auxiliary power cables. The Travelstar hard drives will also be available in retail stores as stand-alone internal drives which are recommended for professional installation. The Travelstar 2.5-inch Upgrade Kit will be available later this month at retail stores nationwide. Both the stand-alone drive and the drive with upgrade kit are available in 40-, 60-, 80- and 100-GB capacities. T-Mobile Showcases New Communicator T-Mobile, that has already launched sales of its new MDA Pro communicator, showcased another novelty to replace MDA III at IFA 2005 in Berlin. The device bases on HTC Wizard reference design, supports 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM bands, has 240x320 LCD and operates under Windows Mobile 5.0. ![]() Being slightly larger than MDA Compact, it also supports GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (802.11b), has a 1.3-megapixel camera, and comes with an Opera browser.
Gigabyte Introduces RoHS-compliant Motherboard Gigabyte recently introduced an AMD Opteron-based GA-2CEWH motherboard, its first product that follows the EU’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation. ![]() Targeting performance workstation applications, the GA-2CEWH features the Nvidia nForce Professional 2200 and 2050 MCP (media and communications processor). The workstation board supports two graphics cards using Nvidia´s nForce4 SLI (scalable link interface) technology, with two PCI Express (PCIe) x16 slots.
