SimpleTech expands Zeus Solid State Drive series with SATA solutions ECS unveils ECS RS480-M PCI-Express motherboard DV RS-MMC: a new flash media series from Apacer AOpen to launch the low-cost XC Cube EZ661L SILVER SFF SimpleTech expands Zeus Solid State Drive series with SATA solutions SimpleTech expanded its Zeus SATA Solid State Drive series with a new solution to be showcased at Sea-Air-Space Exposition (which indicates the novelty´s dedication to aerospace industry or just aggressive environments). At the moment the Zeus series includes 2GB to 128GB drives with 20MB/s to 60MB/s performance depending on capacity. ![]() Zeus SSD are fully ATA-compatible and are designed to replace standard IDE hard drives where necessary. Besides, Zeus SATA solutions are bundled with longer cables and have lower energy consumption, higher data density and a number of proprietary innovations of bad block managing. As such drives don´t have any moving parts, they make no noise and have lower latencies. The novelties are claimed to sustain unlimited number of read cycles, 2 million write cycles and can store data for up to 10 years. Zeus SATA drives will be available in 2.5" and 3.5" dimensions, though size may vary depending on the order. While more details are expected from the exhibition, already now we can say that the novelties will be just up to 9.5mm thick.
ECS unveils ECS RS480-M PCI-Express motherboard Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) today unveiled the new RS480-M motherboard of its Extreme series. The novelty bases on ATI RS480 + ATI SB400 chipset and is designed for AMD Athlon64 CPUs. ![]() The Nortgbridge features RADEON X300 graphics core supporting Microsoft DirectX 9 (PCI Express x16 slot is also available). Other interfaces include: up to 2GB of DDR400/333/266 2.5V, 3 x PCI, 4 x SATA (RAID 0, 1, 0+1), 4 x Ultra DMA133/100/66, 6ch Realtek ALC655 sound, Realtek RTL8100C LAN, 8 x USB2.0, VGA connector, etc.
DV RS-MMC: a new flash media series from Apacer Apacer unveiled the new DV RS-MMC (Dual Voltage Reduced-Size MultiMediaCard) series that meet the MMC 3.X/3.V requirements and require 3.0/1.8V voltage. ![]() DV RS-MMC series offers capacities of 32MB, 64MB and 128MB.
AOpen to launch the low-cost XC Cube EZ661L SILVER SFF Early in April AOpen is to launch the new XC Cube EZ661L SILVER barebone for Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 CPUs. The system is promised to cost about $180 (¥19,800). ![]() The novelty is encased into a silvery body with 220W PSU and SilentTek for XC Cube cooling. EZ661L bases on SiS661FX integrated Northbridge and SiS964L Southbridge and, as already mentioned, supports Pentium 4/Celeron processors on Northwood (800/533/400 MHz FSB), Prescott (533MHz FSB) cores, up to 2GB DDR 266/333/400 MHz. Interfaces include AGP 8X, PCI, 2 x Ultra ATA/133, 4 x USB 2.0, 3 x IEEE1394, Ethernet, S/PDIF, VGA. The system dimensions are 200x320x185mm. Source: PC Watch
