Leadtek, AOpen, Elsa update GeForce 6800 Ultra based graphics card series

Leadtek Research introduced the new WinFast PX6800 Ultra 512MB graphics card on GeForce 6800 Ultra GPU that supports SLI and is naturally good for gaming. And the WinFast A6200 128MB AGP is a value $80 product on GeForce 6200 supporting Shader Model 3.0.

Both novelties support NVIDIA ForceWare, Unified Driver Architecture (UDA) and PureVideo. Interfaces include HDTV output. The new cards will be available in April.

Similar announcements have also been made by the Taiwanese AOpen (Aeolus 6800 Ultra DVD512MB on GeForce 6800 Ultra with 512MB GDDR-3) and the Japanese Elsa (GLADIAC 940 Ultra PCI-E 256MB, 400MHz core, 1,100MHz GDDR3 SDRAM, DirectX 9.0c (Shader Model 3.0), OpenGL 1.5, SLI, up to 2048x1536).

microSD: an alternative to TransFlash?

At CTIA Wireless 2005 the SD Card Association (SDA) informed on plans to release the final specs of the ultra compact microSD media this Spring. Sized 11x15x1mm, the new cards support CPRM, SD and smartSD data security and are compatible with TransFlash. And since the latter is used rather widely at the moment, such compatibility theoretically enables microSD to "infiltrate" millions of cell phones worldwide.

Olympus and Fuji launch 1GB xD Picture Card media

On March 18 and 19, respectively, Olympus and Fuji Photo Film are to launch sales of the new M-XD1GM and M1GB xD Picture Card media with 1GB capacity.

Both novelties utilize MLC (Multi Level Cells) and will cost ¥20K (about ~190).
