Biodisk USB 2.0 and Card Disk USB Pen: Cardmedia´s innovations

European Cardmedia is to introduce two interesting gadgets these days: Biodisk USB 2.0 and Card Disk USB Pen.


Biodisk USB 2.0 is a USB 2.0 dongle with a biometric fingerprint sensor that stores up to 5 fingerprints. A 256MB product is expected to cost about ˆ140 in Europe.

Biodisk USB 2.0 specs:

  • 85 x 27 x 13 mm
  • 19 g weight
  • 508 dpi sensor resolution

The second novelty, CardDisk USB Flash Drive is technically simple, but outwardly stylish. It´s designed as a business card and easily slips into pockets, wallet, etc. A 128MB CardDisk USB Flash Drive will cost about ˆ40.

  • 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 MB capacity
  • Powers over USB (3.3V)
  • Over 10 years of guaranteed data storage
  • 0-50°C operation temperature range

Corsair Memory unveils COOL solution

Having decided to pay closer attention to overclocking, Corsair Memory, mostly known as memory module vendor, released the COOL liquid cooling system.


COOL package includes 120 mm fan with latches for 80, 100, 120 mm diameters. There are two modifications available: CWC100-1000 for Pentium 4 Socket 478 and Athlon 64, and CWC100-1001 for Pentium 4 LGA-775 and Athlon XP.

Samsung´s new mobile memory chips: 3.2 GB in your 3G handset

Samsung released new Multi-Chip Package (MCP) 8-layer flash memory chips sized 11x14x1.4 mm (like 4-layer chips). This time capacities reach whole 3.2 GB, which includes 2 x 1 GB NAND flash, 2 x 256 MB NOR, 2 x 256 MB mobile DRAM, 1 x 128 MB and 1 x 64 MB UtRAM.

Samsung intends to use the novelties in 3G mobile handsets.
