RMClock updated to v1.3

RMClock utility that monitors CPU clock and load, FID and VID in real time through module-specific registers (MSR) responsible for energy saving was updated to v1.3

Changelog:

  • Improved user interface
  • Graphical output of CPU clock and load, FID/VID; can be saved into a file
  • CPU load of Intel Pentium II/III, Pentium M and Pentium 4 processors
  • Throttling clock monitoring in any modes
  • SMP/HT multiway support; independent FID/VID adjustments for each processor
  • Support of mobile and server (DBS) Enhanced Intel SpeedStep of Intel Pentium M/Celeron M and Intel Xeon (Nocona) processors
  • Specific energy saving and performance settings for AMD K7, AMD K8, Intel Pentium M/Pentium 4/Xeon processors
  • Minimal FID/VID monitoring
  • Energy saving and performance features recognition
  • Improved CPU load determination using custom time intervals
  • Improved CPU performance management logic with CPU load "noise filtering"
  • Can set process priority to Realtime
  • Fixed CPU load determination bug caused by Hibernate
  • Fixed user settings saving bug caused by logout, reboot or power off

ASUSTeK introduces AP1600R-E2(CS3), 1U dual-Nocona server

ASUSTeK introduced another server solution — AP1600R-E2(CS3) 1U rackmount system on two Intel Xeon Nocona 800 processors (up to 3.6 GHz, 1 MB L2). The server features NCL-DS1R1 motherboard on Lindenhurst chipset (Intel ICH5R Southbridge) and supports up to 8 x DDR333 SDRAM DIMM registered ECC modules (up to 16 GB). Two Broadcom BCM5721 Gigabit Ethernet controllers are also onboard.

The storage system bases on Adaptec AIC-7902 PCI-X Dual U320 SCSI dual-channel controller. As for SATA/PATA, the Southbridge provides up to 2 x SATA drives (RAID 0, 1) and 2 x IDE (UltraATA 33/66/100, PIO Mode 0-4). The graphics is 8MB ATI RageXL.

Options include zero-channel RAID (ZCR; installed into SO-DIMM slot) — RAID 0, 1, 5.

Interfaces are rather standard: 2 x USB 2.0 on the front panel, PS/2 keyboard and mouse, 1 x COM, 2 x USB on the back panel, D-Sub, 2 x RJ-45, sockets for FDD/2xHDD.

As for the chassis itself, it offers places for 24X slim CD-ROM or 8X slim DVD-ROM, slim FDD, 3 x HDD with hot swap. The server has 500W PSU and is sized 670x445x43.6 mm.

AP1600R-E2(CS3) utilizes 8 fans: 4 x 4056 for CPUs, 4 x 4028 for expansion cards and PSU.
