AMD Athlon 64 3000+ officially announced AMD officially announced the new AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor. Having lower energy consumption, it´s meant for various notebooks and, according to the press release, offers advanced security options (Enhanced Virus Protection, EVP). Similar to other processors in this series, AMD Athlon 64 3000+ utilizes AMD PowerNow! technology to lower power consumption. The press release states, it´s the first solution for notebooks made using 90nm process. Acer Ferrari systems are expected to be one of the first to feature the novelty. In over 1,000-unit quantities AMD Athlon 64 3000+ costs $241.
